Primrose Schools Give $5,000

Students from the Primrose Schools in Madison and Huntsville presented a $5,000 check to the Huntsville Library Foundation to support early-childhood development & literacy efforts in their community.

The students raised the money through their helping hands project which included a variety of fundraisers and programs. Primrose School owners Ray and Ronda Bellenfant are committed to creating life-long learners from their students, and participate in storytimes and literacy events weekly at the public library.

"Our goal is to raise awareness of children in terms of being better citizens of tomorrow and how they can give back to the community," said Primrose Research park director, Martha Ginn.

The money donated will go towards the library's Great Big Book Bash event February 19 & 20, 2010. this year's guest is renowned illustrator  and New Yorker cartoonist, Harry Bliss.
